Quite a different week I’m having than my past 17(+) years…As my former colleagues head back to their classrooms, and I hop into a tractor or barn, I certainly am having some mixed emotions! I couldn’t be more sure or grateful that this life/career change was absolutely where God has led us, but it’s still a doozy to process for sure. Wow. We feel so incredibly grateful to Cindy and Carlos for choosing to celebrate their wedding with us. But it was so much more than that- we truly felt welcomed into the family and felt the overwhelming love and support from every guest here. From preparing with you, to the closing of the day, it was such a special experience for us as well. And I mean how cute is her Abuela with Hank?!

This is our home, our life, our family and vision. To have guests come and feel the peace and warmth we’ve worked so hard to create is beyond touching. God has truly blessed us in abundance of love and community.

Did you know we had a turkey?! He really likes it when I tell him how handsome he is AND he gets more colorful.

Fun fact: the Booger looking thing on their nose is called a Snood! When he’s nervous it has a lot of white, and when he’s happy he’s very red and blue. The chickens like having him around too.

This is how- we’ve been rolling for the past 700 weekends. Ok maybe not 700 but certainly seems like it. Fencing! There’s so much! These critters need a shuffle and we need them to mow these fields. We’re getting SO close!

What a hot week! Hank’s chillin his feets in his water and has been enjoying good soaks from the hose. He LOVED that rain last night and I can tell he’s looking forward to more!
All the animals on the farm have been getting fresh cold water, have fans, and plenty of shade. Now let’s hope the humidity knocks off soon and we can breath outside again 🥵

We had a BLAST! I’m obsessed with this process now, thank you so much to @d_beaul with DeeBee Glass for sharing your art with us last night. We can’t wait to do more and have BIG plans for Christmas glass workshops already (of course we’re already thinking Christmas here!)
These were our creations before they hit the kiln. We used “Murrine (singular: murrina) are colored patterns or images made in a glass cane that are revealed when the cane is cut into thin cross-sections.” So all those glass rods had the intricate patterns inside!
Denise will fire these in her glass kiln this week and we’ll have our finished products. This was honestly so fun for all ages- we had 8- (not quite) 80 last night, and everyone had a great time with beautiful art ❤️ This makes my heart so happy. God has given us such a gift to create and share and enjoy. This is the stuff we need more of.

BIG CHANGES, NEW CHAPTERS!!

Sophie is leaving the Intermediate School and headed to 7th grade at the Middle School! Lucy has finished 8th grade and I have finished my 17th year at Wethersfield High School! However, Lucy and I will not be returning to our old stomping grounds as in past years.

We have a had a year: Lucy has had Lyme Disease that was misdiagnosed as Anxiety for a few years. (If you didn’t know, Lyme is a ‘great imitator’) it has turned into ME/CFS: Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. She has finished 8th grade with the help of a homebound tutor. She also has POTS and EDS and a few others in the alphabet soup. She’s been a warrior. Some days look amazing- like in the picture! Some days look like she can’t get off the couch- like today, the day after the picture.

We have decided to look into more flexible high school options for Lucy next year, and I will be home- overseeing her care and education and running the farm.

We’re confident this will ultimately be a blessing and a way to live a bit more simply, and humbly as we see where it takes us all.

We appreciate your support in our Journey, and look forward to the good days ahead!

Pre-Cut Trees

Experience the joy of choosing your own Christmas tree! We will have a limited supply this year of 6-8' Balsam Firs fresh from Canada. Trees will be picked up right before Thanksgiving and ready for you November 24th, 25th and 26th

Hot Chocolate & Popcorn

Warm up by the fire with some hot cocoa and popcorn! We offer a variety of goodies to all of our customers to make your experience even more enjoyable.

Looking for something extra?
